This isn't really a case study but just another example of a 2003 GMC Tahoe intake leak. I did this diagnoses at another car lot but had the same results. The scan data pretty much mirrored the other
2003 Chevy Tahoe case study. The intake on this 5.3 liter did leak worse than the other Tahoe but the fuel trims were not that much different from the other one. I actually replaced the intake gaskets on this one even though I usually only just diagnose through
Dewitz Diagnostic Solutions. I put this case study up so you can see the intake design on this motor if you haven't already. Below are the pictures from this truck. The orange gaskets are the originals and the rubber is actually recessed in the plastic causing the intake leak. The new blue rubber gasket is now thicker. This intake also doesn't have any coolant passages.
